Privacy policy
Last updated September 1, 2026
This explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what you can tell us to do with it.
This policy covers RidezoUS, operated by RidezoUS, Inc.. It applies to the website and the app, and to anyone who creates a rider account with us.
1. What we collect
What you give us
- Your name, email address, mobile number and date of birth.
- Your home address and any other places you save.
- The name and number of an emergency contact.
- A profile photo, if you upload one.
- Payment details, handled as described in section 3.
What we record as you use the service
- Trips: pickup, destination, route, time, distance and fare.
- Ratings and any message you send about a trip.
- Device and connection details, including IP address and browser.
- Sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, and changes you make to your account.
Location
Location is collected while you are using the app to book or take a trip. That includes the period between requesting a car and being dropped off, so the driver can find you and so the route can be reconstructed if something goes wrong. You can turn location off in your device settings, but you will then have to type addresses in by hand.
2. Why we collect it
- To provide the service. Matching you with a driver, calculating the fare, sending a receipt.
- For safety. Investigating incidents, responding to an emergency button press, and cooperating with law enforcement where the law requires it.
- To prevent fraud. Checking that a card is usable and that an account is not being used to defraud drivers or other riders.
- To meet legal obligations. Tax records, insurance claims, and responses to lawful requests.
- To improve the service. Understanding which routes are slow, where cars are scarce, and which parts of the app confuse people.
3. Payment information
When you add a card, the number is passed to our payment processor. We keep the card brand, the last four digits, the name on the card and the billing address. We do not keep the full card number, the expiration date or the security code, and no member of our staff can retrieve them.
We check the first six to eight digits of a card, which identify the issuing bank, against a card information service. This tells us the type of card and the country that issued it. It does not identify you.
4. Who we share it with
Drivers
A driver accepting your trip sees your first name, your rating, your pickup point and your destination. They do not see your email, your full name, your phone number, your payment details or your other saved addresses. Calls and messages between you are masked, so neither side learns the other's number.
Service providers
We use outside companies for payment processing, mapping and address lookup, card verification, message delivery and hosting. They receive only what they need for their part of the job and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
Legal and safety
We disclose information when the law requires it, when we are responding to a valid legal request, or when we believe someone is at risk of serious harm. We will tell you when this happens unless we are legally barred from doing so.
Business transfers
If the company is sold or merged, account information may transfer with it. You will be told before that happens and before this policy changes as a result.
What we never do
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers to target you.
5. How long we keep it
- Account details for as long as your account is open.
- Trip records and receipts for seven years, which US tax rules require of us.
- Sign-in and security logs for twelve months.
- Failed sign-in attempts for fifteen minutes, then discarded.
Deleting your account removes your profile, saved places and payment methods. Trip receipts are kept for the period above, with your name detached from them where we are able to do so.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live in the United States, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete your account and the information tied to it.
- Stop sending you marketing messages.
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and other states with comparable laws have these rights in statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for using them. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
To make a request, write to privacy@ridezous.com. We reply within 45 days and will tell you if we need longer. We may ask you to confirm who you are first, so that nobody else can make a request in your name.
7. Security
Passwords are stored as one-way hashes and cannot be read back by anyone, including us. Connections are encrypted. Access to rider records is limited to staff who need it, and every change made to an account is logged with the name of the person who made it.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information we will tell you and the relevant authorities within the time the law allows.
8. Children
The service is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it. An adult may bring a minor along on a trip they book.
9. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and to protect forms against cross-site request forgery. It is removed when you sign out. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
10. Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
